Strawberry Citrus Juice ...

Talk about having a good juice to wake up to in the mornings, this is it! I can remember my mother serving us up a glass of fresh orange juice with our breakfast on Sunday mornings. Back in the day when they use to have those glass juicers, I'm sure you all know the ones.

Well today they have one's that are a little more modern. You don't have to do the twisting either. Yesterday I went to the produce market and loaded up on some Beautiful Blood Oranges 2/$1 they were. I thought, I would get more this way then in the bag where there is only 6 or 7. Besides, I spent the same as I would have if I'd bought a bag.

This juice was inspired by the redness of the blood oranges and the taste was truly Delicious! ...Here's what I did to accomplish the glass of goodness
Drinking a good glass of juice doesn't always mean you have to get store bought. you can make it up on your own and you can add what YOU like in it. There is something about strawberries and oranges that get me going. I love the smell of the oranges as you peel them. That citrus smell permeates throughout the house, just makes you wanna devour an orange, lemon, lime or grapefruit.

When making this juice you can add ice to make it colder and water to stretch it with sweetener if you like as well. For me I just like the freshness of the juice by itself. By adding a little more cut fruit and ice, tops it off nicely.

Here's what you'll need:

2 Blood Oranges
2 Med. White Grapefruit
1lrg Ruby red Grapefruit
10-12 Fresh/frozen Strawberries (stems removed)

Using a citrus juicer, juice the oranges and grapefruit.  Clean seeds from the pulp and add the pulp to the juice. At this time you can add the citrus juice to a pitcher, a nice glass one if you have it. Place strawberries into the blender and add 1/2c of the citrus juice to blend up the strawberries. Pour strawberry mixture with the rest of the citrus juice and stir well and serve your family ...

ENJOY!

Apple & Carrot Turkey Burger "Re-Invented"

Apple & Carrot Turkey Burger "Re-Invented" Topped with Thin Slices of Pink Lady Apple, Green Peppers, Mixed Salad Greens & Vidalia Onion Sauce! MMM, MMM!

No one said you have to stick to tradition when it comes to making a good burger/sandwich. By adding different things to make it stand out, causes you to enjoy your meal as you began to explore ways to make it taste better.

Don't be afraid to step out of the box. Being different is always a "Good Thing!" In my Martha Stewart voice ..

Apple & Carrot Pulp Turkey Burger

Apple & Carrot Pulp Turkey Burger Topped with Thin Slices of Fresh Green Pear, Green Peppers, Turkey Bacon & Vidalia Onion Sauce ... Out of Sight!

This is definitely a newbie for me. As much as I love to eat pears I never thought to add to a burger. I have to say, if you haven't tried this before, you got to! The burst of fresh pear in each bite is wonderful.

I made this burger using the pulp from juicing and adding a good cup full to 1lb ground turkey meat. Cook the burger as you would, grill or pan fry. Top it off with your favorite toppings and you are good to go. Just be sure you try slicing some pear to go on top .... ENJOY!

Homemade French Bread French Toast ...

When I was a little girl my brother and I use to love to make our own french toast and pretend we were in a restaurant. We'd pretend to make an order and take turns making each others food. Although we would go through the whole loaf of bread, we had a ball trying to make the perfect french toast.

Now that I'm older and have had children of my own, french toast was a must have for breakfast. The boys always enjoyed getting their plates fixed up like in the restaurant. Strawberries was the topping of choice  with whipped cream. This was our perfect time to sit and discuss our week, as well as the goings on at school.

Making this meal for your loved ones is sure to be a conversation starter at the breakfast/brunch table. It is an easy meal to let the children help at the preparation ...

Here's what you'll need to get started:

3lrg Eggs (preferably organic)
1 1/2c of milk product
1/4tsp nutmeg
1/4tsp cinnamon
1/2tsp pure vanilla extract
8 slice of bread

whisk all ingredients (except bread) together in large mixing bowl. heat your skillet or griddle until hot to the touch. Spray your pan/griddle with cooking spray and began to place your coated bread onto the pan. Dip your bread into the egg mixture making sure you coat both sides evenly, DO NOT soak the bread. Do maybe 4 pieces at a time, don't over crowd the cooking space. You're gonna need room to flip the toast.

Plate you toast and top with any kind of berries or fruit and ENJOY! ...
