Homemade French Bread French Toast ...

When I was a little girl my brother and I use to love to make our own french toast and pretend we were in a restaurant. We'd pretend to make an order and take turns making each others food. Although we would go through the whole loaf of bread, we had a ball trying to make the perfect french toast.

Now that I'm older and have had children of my own, french toast was a must have for breakfast. The boys always enjoyed getting their plates fixed up like in the restaurant. Strawberries was the topping of choice  with whipped cream. This was our perfect time to sit and discuss our week, as well as the goings on at school.

Making this meal for your loved ones is sure to be a conversation starter at the breakfast/brunch table. It is an easy meal to let the children help at the preparation ...

Here's what you'll need to get started:

3lrg Eggs (preferably organic)
1 1/2c of milk product
1/4tsp nutmeg
1/4tsp cinnamon
1/2tsp pure vanilla extract
8 slice of bread

whisk all ingredients (except bread) together in large mixing bowl. heat your skillet or griddle until hot to the touch. Spray your pan/griddle with cooking spray and began to place your coated bread onto the pan. Dip your bread into the egg mixture making sure you coat both sides evenly, DO NOT soak the bread. Do maybe 4 pieces at a time, don't over crowd the cooking space. You're gonna need room to flip the toast.

Plate you toast and top with any kind of berries or fruit and ENJOY! ...
